These unque handbags, handmade in Bali and Java, Indonesia, are made from natural fibers and materials such as pandan leaf, rattan, agel, bamboo, jute, sea grass, water hyacinth, tree bark, dried & woven roots, coconut wood and native hardwoods. Some are decorated with mother of pearl, sea shells and beads. Many have leather handles. In Bali and all of Indonesia, artistic use of natural materials is a way of life, and the process of drying, dyeing and weaving is an art handed down for centuries, generation to generation.
